Scholarship requirements to study in Australia as an international student?

Scholarship requirements to study in Australia as an international student?
I'm currently in high school in the U.S., but I'm no citizen. Seeing how the cost of unis in Australia are thrice cheaper than unis here, I'm considering it as one of the possibilities. Say I'm accepted to a school and want to apply for financial aid, scholarship, whatever you call it. What are the usual attributes, test score (and what test really matters, SAT, TOEFL?..), grade ...etc etc.. requirements for those entering as an undergraduate to possibly get financial aid?

Australian university international fees are around 20K per year (plus accommodation costs etc) which I believe is on par with the US fees. The "cheapness" is only available for Australian citizens. The fees are able to be postphoned through HECS and paid back once you are earning over 30K per year. Australian citizens are also eligible for AUSTUDY which is money for the first undergraduate degree. As such, Australia does not have a scholarship program, as all Australians are deemed either eligible for AUSTUDY or have parents deemed rich enough to support them themselves. The only undergrad scholarships across the country is for study at Duntroon/military university and they accept only Australians. PhD scholarships are the only scholarships our universities have.

As an Indonesian citizen, you need to apply for a tourist visa at the Australian Consulate in Shanghai: http://www.immi.gov.au/contacts/overseas/c/peoples-republic-of-china/shanghai/ Forms and procedures: http://www.china.embassy.gov.au/bjng/DIMA03020101.html

The most fun college town in the US for an exchange student from Australia?
Ill be going over to the US for Fall 2011. I'm from sydney Australia, doing a post graduate degree in Enrivonmental communications (journalism/environmental studies/marine). My choices at the moment are between the following. Which are the fun towns, with the best music, outdoor and friendliest social environment? Cheers! University of California - Berkeley University of Mississippi University of California - Santa Barbara University of Arizona University of Tennessee University of South Florida Colorado State University University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill

UC Berkeley, UC SB, and UNC out of your list would be great schools. Also not on your list that you may want to consider is Arizona State University. Phoenix is a bigger area than Tuscon where the University of Arizona is, so there's a lot more to do and in my experience ASU has been way more social and friendly than U of A.

Cal- SB Tenn UNC dont waste your time going anywhere else.

hi, go to www.immi.gov.au and select the student visa section for options that apply to you, cheers
2 :
http://www.immi.gov.au/e_visa/ thats the website, but theyre doing maintenance at the moment. Its not hard to get a visa to come here unless you have a criminal record or history of bad behaviour etc.
3 :
try the australian embassy
4 :
Just keep in mind that the US summer is winter here, it's best to head north in winter eg Cairns, Darwin, Broome
5 :
The type of visa that you can get will depend on your passport country. You would definitely qualify for a subclass 676 Tourist visa, but there may be easier ones if you're a citizen of one of the countries with special arrangements with Australia. This official government site has all of the alternatives: http://www.immi.gov.au/visitors/

Not being Australian or in the at country, you will need to contact the Australian Embassy, which is in New York. Now San Jose is where actually (California)? If so look up the listings for Embassy's or Representative Offices, like up here we have an Australian High Commission in Ottawa. Chris
