How long does it take for a 15 year old "Student Ambassador" to get a passport to Australia.?
My teen son has a friend that says she's going their ,has just found out and will leave in September. As a "Student Ambassador" of the US that's what she told him..I said it was BS so I want to be absolute in knowing how long it does take to get a passport. My opinion to him doesn't have validity.Although he asked me about it. So on his request , I; am asking this question to you. Please be understanding in your response..

Normal processing time for a U.S. passport is 4-6 weeks: http://travel.state.gov/passport/get/processing/processing_1740.html You can get a passport faster (in about 2-3 weeks) but it will cost an extra $60 (in addition to the the $85 fee to get a passport for a minor under the age of 16).
