can i declare myself as self employed under student visa in australia?
the allowed working hours in australia is 20 hours per week(under student visa), however I already have a bachelor degree and would like to pursue my career. Thank you

No - you cannot work more than 20 hours a week in semester time - you risk being deported if you work more (and then you will have trouble getting a visa into any other country)

Australia Student Visa in Huge delay,2009?
Hi My name is Harman I scored 7.5 bands in IELTS I applied for Australia e-student visa in the month of August,2009. My Classes were about to start on 29th September, 2009 My medicals are also finalised and uploaded in the Australia online visa portal Can someone tell me what's going on in the Australia Embassy.. This is really affecting my studies and my planning for my future and carrier.....

You haven't told us what country you're from, but it's true that student visa applications for students from some countries have been subject to delays caused by extensive additional checking required to identify fraudulent applications. Far too many people from some countries have been submitting IELTS results for tests taken by other people; financial documentation that bears no resemblance to their true state of affairs; bogus academic results etc etc. The dishonest people have made everything more difficult for honest students but the fault is not with Australian immigration. http://www.immi.gov.au/students/student-visa-checks-strengthened.htm

As an International student if i completer my postgraduation at Australia do i get a residency or citizenship?
As an International student if i completer my postgraduation at Australia do i get a residency or citizenship?
As an international student if i complete my postgraduation from australia will i get a permanent residency , citizenship? if yee then how? how it works? if not then why and how can i get it? i desparately need australian citizenship

what you need and what Australia thinks it needs may not be the same thing. and the Aussies are in charge of whom they let into the country. *** no. simply completing graduate school there will not get you a free pass to become a resident or citizen. please consult the australian government's website for their requirements on how people might move there permanently. Hail, Australia!! [they're doing some things right.] :-)

G'day, Hmmm... lots of ppl that dun know the answer but answer just for the sake of 2pts... saddd :p OK... I know (& I'm sure you noticed as well) that there are plenty of international students who have completed their study and got residency to stay and work in Australia. The best thing for you is to contact the Dept. of immigration (www.immi.gov.au) for the latest information on what's required to get your residency. As the laws change very rapidly from time to time, only the staff of Dept Immigration that can best informing you of the latest info. Citizenship can be gained after you maintained your residency visa for a number of years. Hope this helps. Good luck :)
