I am going on Student Exchange to Australia?

I am going on Student Exchange to Australia?
I am going on student exchange to Australia!! I live in France, and I am to go to Australia for 6 months in December - June. What can I expect from going on Exchange to Australia? I'm quite nervous! What is the differences between France and Australia? I speak English well, so that is not a problem, but the culture differences are worrying. What am I to expect? I will be living in both canberra and sydney!

You will love it. On average I found Australians to be the friendliest most open people I have met. It may take some getting used to their blunt approach, not always diplomatic, just straightforward

Exchange is very exciting, I've done it twice. Assuming you'll be here for more than 2 months, you'll likely experience culture shock. "Shock" is a bit of a strong word, but you will go through a few emotions, how intense will depend on your situation (mine were noticeable, but nothing too difficult). It depends on how adjustable you are. But first you'll be excited, as everything is new and different. Then you'll be annoyed, as your way makes more sense then their way. And then you adjust, and accept the difference. Australia is quite laid back, you'll enjoy it. There is a lot to see and do! Never been to Canberra, but Sydney is a great city - you're very lucky to be living there. Don't be nervous, you'll love it! Be excited!
