How much money does a part time working student in Australia earn?
I am hoping to study abroad (Australia) and I want to apply for a full time course. As I can work 20 hours per week I want to know approximately how much money I can earn doing part time work in Australia per hour. Hope to hearing from you soon. Bye

I believe that most educational visas do not allow work here, unfortunately. I would definitely check with your university and the Australian Embassy where you are to find out for sure. Until then, I would not count on being able to get a job without residency/citizenship/or a special work visa. Also, the Austrailan dollar is only equal to 75 cents United States. So, if you earn 100 dollars, it's only worth 75 dollars in the states.

I think Mel is right about the visa not permitting work here in Aus... however as with most things, some one will more than likely overlook legalities... the thing is your not going to get paid much working for someone dodgy, and part time work isn't the easiest to find, unless your speciffically trained at something, and living in one of the major cities eg Sydney or Melbourne.

hi niki that depends on the city you are going for? it would be not less than 300 aus $ per week in cities like Adelaide melbourne sidney canberra pls visit ADP council in your city for information Dont go for any Cnsultancies where there is a possibility for mis guidance. ADP is a counselling centre which is conducted by Aus professionals to assist people Have a bright career ahead

G'day Niki... nice to see you again in this forum :) Part-time casual jobs usually earns between AUD$15-$25/hr gross. This means that it still has to be deducted for taxation purposes. Depending on your total income in a year, you might get some back when you do your tax return at the end of financial year. If you want to have some rough idea abt living expenses for international students, the weblink below will give you some info, as it is prepared by a university in Australia based on international students' experience. Hope this helps. Good luck :)
